This recipe is exactly how I make my own but the KFC's in my area and surrounding areas don't use this recipe anymore. They have gone the bare minimum/cheat way. All the put in their coleslaw now is vinegar and sugar and it is horrific. I no longer oder it because it is nasty. But this recipe as I've said is a very good one. KFC needs to go back to the original way the use to make, they would sell a lot more.

I've made Todd's recipe for years and it always gets rave reviews at pot lucks, goes great with BBQ (even on a pulled pork sandwich). If you don't have buttermilk, use 1/4 teaspoon of either vinegar or lemon juice in 1/4 cup of regular milk. Mix it an let it sit for 3-5 min and it is a buttermilk substitute!

This is the first copy-cat recipe, of any kind, that is this ridiculously close, if not spot on. If you love KFC coleslaw, do yourself a favor and try this out.

This recipe is spot on. I made it for the first time last week (half-recipe) not expecting it to be so good. I'm making it again today for my son and grandkids. So delicious!

This tastes exactly like KFC slaw (which also tastes just like my late mother's slaw minus the celery seeds). This is the slaw I make when we are having tradition BBQ. But I'm actually thinking that it would go nicely on fried fish tacos. I will try that very soon.

This is always my go to recipe for any pot luck I'm invited to. I get requests for it when I decide to change it up and bring something different. The first time I took it to a pot luck at work, someone called out, "who got lazy and went to KFC?!" I said that I made it. He says, "nope, no way. This is KFC coleslaw". I argued back that I indeed made it. He refused to believe me, "I've been eating KFC all my life and they coleslaw is my favorite thing they have. I know my KFC coleslaw!"
I had the receipt of the ingredients still in my wallet from the day before when I got them. And I have the directions saved on my phone. I showed him both.
He finally believed me, and wanted to know where on Earth I got their recipe? I went to my email and my Todd Wilbur file, opened the website, told him to clock on restaurants then find KFC, it is all alphabetical, easy peasy. ????
He drained my phone battery by going through all the restaurants he favored. He wanted to know how to unlock the recipes? I took my phone back and wrote down Todd's website addy. Then I told him to join the club, at least sign up for the newsletter. I'm hungry for it now, I think I'll make a batch on my days off this week. Yum!
