I made this recipe exactly like it is written. I could not tell any difference from Pace. Perfect recipe.

Excellent! A real money-saver in these days of inflation. Another great use for quality tomato paste. BTW, I doubled the peppers and it worked fine. Nice and hot! I will never buy prepared salsa again.

Thor, how did you come to convert from using the tomato paste listed in the recipe to your version using the crushed can tomatoes?

I figured out the trick to having this taste like the original is letting it age. You need to let it sit in the fridge for 3-4 days, it will not taste right until then. Also using a canned crushed tomatoes will match the original better.

The clone for this recipe is very close. I gave it four stars until I realized that this recipe should not be doubled. Also, It took a long time for it to cook down to get the right consistency. It was very good overall.
