I lived off of beverly and rampart less then a mile from original.
Ive been to santa monica, budweiser brewery location, long beach, orange county, vegas, barstow almost all.
My eight bros, sisters and I started eating the burgers back in 1975. The recipe is spot on. They first heat up the chili in the morning, then place a big pot of it in a corner of the grill to keep it warm for use during the day. The chili thickens up during that time due to the large amount of flour in it. They add grease from the grill to the pot sparingly several times during the day to keep it a certain consistency! Just wait untill your hamburgers are ready, then whisk a few tablespoons of the leftover grease into the saucepan you are heating your chili up in.
To the people that left a bad review...let us know how it works out!!

Everybody has to try this... Tommy's is an addictive... When you live near a Tommy's you have to fight to NOT go there... Sheer Burger Decadence... use also on frys and dogs... chip dips, scramble... MANNNNN..

I love Tommy's chili. This is the closest Best copycat I've tasted. Like trish said, there is one thing missing. Probably black pepper. I'm not sure. But it's good. Great job.

I don't think something's missing as much as I think there's too much of something like vinegar there is a twang at the end of the tasting. A twangy after taste.

Excellent recipe. Tastes just like Tommy's. Add a little extra cayenne for a little extra kick. Put the cooked ground beef in the food processor for just the right consistency.
