The kids couldn't wait to jump in and eat. We had bought one of those little bags, and it invoked a "How'd they do that" question, which led to our experiment. Delish!

I've actually written up a similar version of this recipe and love making it for holidays and guests. Try using brown sugar for a different taste. I actually toast the nuts first in the pan, then add the sugar and water. That might help people from having to toast the nuts later.

I STARTED MY PECANS, TOASTED. ADDED CINNAMON TO GET THAT DARK COLOR, AFTER POURING THEM ON PLATE I ADDED A DASH OF SALT. SO GOOD! MY KIDS ATE THEM UP IN NO TIME:)

This is a fast and easy recipe. Put a little salt in it at the end.

I added 1/4 tsp each of cinnamon and vanilla to the mix, plus salt at the very end. Extremely tasty and so easy to make. I'm trying it next with bourbon..
Have live in NYC area for years. I moved half way across the country and miss my favorite snack. This recipe is an exact match and is a huge hit at parties and gatherings. Just a small peice of home for me :)

Yes, definitely need to place in oven after the stovetop cooking as above. I also add cinnamon and a 1/8 tsp cayenne for added punch.
