I'm not in the South, and Red Diamond tea is not available here. I didn't even know Milo's had burger restaurants until I read these reviews! I've been getting gallons of the sugar-free Milo's Sweet Tea at the store, and this recipe (made with Splenda), tastes EXACTLY like the store-bought. I use more sweetener than is called for, though. :)

You are assuming that by "Southern Tea" the only solution is Luzianne. This is incorrect. Luzianne is an OK tea. But just OK. However, the premier Southern Tea is Red Diamond Tea. Like Red Diamond Coffees, it is the epitome of Southern. Mile's being a Birmingham company, will always first seek out other Birmingham companies for ingredients. True Milo's Tea lovers will tell you that there's a difference between the tea bought in the store and the tea from a Milo's Hamburgers shop. This is true. Though every attempt is made for there to be no flavor difference when adding preservatives to a recipe, in reality, there is a small difference. Milo's Tea sold in store of course has preservatives. It is mandatory, i.e. there is a law. Tea sold in the Milo's Restaurants is preservative free. The tea in the shops sells so fast that preservatives are not needed.

Actually, I'm in Bama and I (and my family) use Red Diamond tea which is also from Birmingham. Luzianne does in a pinch though.
