I agree with Donnalynn. The large bottle is more than $6.50 at the store. I made this and then REFILLED the bottle, and the kids didn't know the difference.

This recipe is the BEST! I have made it once and the color of the sauce changes after it refrigerates for a while, and is as close to the original as you could get. The flavor is also very close to the original and at over .60¢ an ounce in the stores, this is a huge savings.

Very easy to do, but it lacks a charateristic flavor of the original. I think maybe tamarind, will try and add a little next time. Good though as is.

This is EXACTLY like the original! Up here in the cold, cold North we find the original colour of the sauce quite appealing!
