Ratings and Reviews of Chili's Original Chili

I've been in a mood to try different chili recipes lately so this one had to be given a go. I used a new frozen beef product I found at a local store. Frozen pre-cooked ground beef crumbles which are a coarse/chili ground beef. I was thrilled to find it since no stores around me offers fresh coarse ground beef. And since this was to be a "set it and forget it meal" I didn't feel like setting up the KitchenAid meat grinder. It was wonderful. The only thing I did differently was that I didn't add the vinegar until the last hour of cooking. I figured I lose the brightness of the vinegar after than many hours in a slow cooker (I cooked 4 hours on low before I turned the heat up to simmer with the lid off to reduce the liquid a bit. It was a simple and delicious dinner.

I made this the other day. It turned out excellent. The only difference was I used chuck roast (1/2 inch squares) instead of ground beef and simmered it about 3 hrs. A very nice bowl of red!

Made this the other day. It turned out GREAT! Just the right amount of heat good flavor and as good at the restaurants. Make sure you get the Mexene Chili Power for the same flavor profile. Don't use McCormick's, it is sort of muddy in flavor and color compared to Mexene's. I will be switching all my chili power to Mexene's now. WOW does it make a difference.

This chili is the best! Just the right amount of heat and so much flavor. It’s quickly become a family favorite. Making it again tonight!
