  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 4 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dry minced onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

    • Instructions
      1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and place it over medium heat.

      2. When the mixture begins to boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Cool the sauce to room temperature before using.

      Makes 1 cup.
