I had my doubts on this one. How much flavor can there really be in this, but to figured I'd give it a try. And...it was major hit in my house. I don't know what did it, but there was a distinct flavor that made it delicious.

Great soup recipe! I usually add some finely minced celery too. I have been using mashed potato flakes as a thickener in my potato soup for years

While it may not be part of the restaurants' version, I HAVE TO encourage EVERYONE to please, try adding a little dollop of sour cream, or even plain Greek yogurt on the top of this!! It just elevates it SOOOO MUCH! And, yeah, don't skimp on the bacon! ??? Fan-bleeping-tastic!!!

Search the internet no more, this is the mother of all potato soup recipes! As a preferences I substitute green onions for chives and did not skimp on the bacon and cheese. Best to serve when ready
