We used the meatball recipe but made a different sauce. These were the most tender meatballs I have ever made! Thanks again for creating this recipe. It will definitely be a staple in the house from now on. Can’t wait to try the next one.

This is a world-class recipe that shows exactly how to make a wonderful sauce and incredible meatballs. We never had a fabulous meatball recipe (like this one is), because it shows you how to have really tasty and unique meatballs. They are just not BIG CHUNKS OF MEAT ... they have flavor and are just like Spaghetti Warehouse (if you ask us). Truly, a remarkable recipe ... this recipe is probably one of the best copycats that the Great Todd Wilbur has ever put together, but there are caveats to those comments. Yes, we loved it without a doubt.
However, this is not going to be a recipe that most people would love right-off-the-batt. #1) It needs more sauce, so you will have to make 2 to 3 times as much sauce. #2) The meatballs are too big for us, so we want to cut them down to pretty small -- where you get some of the outer char. #3) We really want to play with the sauce and some more flavor to it. Yes, it is good, but it is not anything more than brothy-sauce ... we like tomato pieces in our sauces. So, we are gonna add some fire-roasted tomato chunks. #4) The flavors are spectacular, but still, I think most people will want to play with it and modify it where you find YOUR EXACT FLAVOR, so that you will like it without wanting to make subtle modifications.
Honestly, @TSR, this is gonna be a recipe that will be in our family for this entire generation. Thank you. Never again, will we even desire to go to Spaghetti Warehouse or elsewhere, and wait and pay outrageous prices for what this recipe will give us at home and for much, much cheaper.

Yes. The Meatballs are delicious! IT IS THE SAUCE that was the huge winner for us. We could just drink the stuff. Wow! I used fresh tomatoes, basil, from the garden (broil tomato 8 minutes, cool, slip the skins off add a t of lemon juice and you have perfect tomatoes for this recipe) simmered it up… over pasta and the meatballs … heaven. I’m going to use the last of the season’s tomatoes to can this little sauce to enjoy all winter. Yum!! Thank you for another great recipe!

I tried this recipe tonight and ended up with the best meatballs I have ever made. Huge, delicious, and the perfect texture. I will stick with this from now on. Even my wife enjoyed it, and she’s not usually a big fan of meatballs. Thanks for yet another great recipe.
