As a former Houlihan's cook, I would say this is a fair approximation. I was pleased to see that he got the batter technique correct. They use buttermilk though mixed with a little of their flour which has more ingredients.

These were really tasty. I doubled the cream cheese filling. It was just enough to fill an 8 oz package of mushrooms. You won't be disapointed! Instead of spooning the filling, I piped the filling into the mushrooms. Piping made it easier to get into the mushroom cavity and distribute more evenly.

A trip to Atlanta! I can't think of Atlanta, GA, without thinking, "that's where I go to Houlihan's Old Place, and that's where I eat the best's "Shrooms on planet Earth. Now, I don't HAVE to GO there, I can make them at home--and EAT THEM ALL BY MY SELF! Ya Ha!! Is that a review or what?
