I understand why the patties have to be frozen first, but the entire process to make these is quite lengthy (time-wise). The only benefit of making country fried steak this way is that you don't need a knife to eat the steak. We all enjoyed the flavor but I'm not sure that I'd make them again. I did made them gluten free using King Arthur 1 for 1 flour for both the breading and the gravy.

Turned out well. I decided to not follow directions and use cube steak from Publix. Next time I will use lean ground beef too see how they compare. Keeping the oil at the right temp is key. I made 4 steaks and two of them were better than the other two. Will make again though.
