    Pizza Hut Meaty Marinara Pasta

One of two pasta dishes currently on the pizza giant’s menu, the Meaty Marinara Pasta was first introduced in a 2008 April Fool’s publicity stunt when Pizza Hut claimed it was changing its name to “Pasta Hut.” No one fell for the prank but they did fall for the pasta, and that's why the Tuscani Creamy Chicken Alfredo Pasta and Meaty Marinara Pasta have been on the menu ever since. The sauce is the big secret here; it's simple and classic, but customized to produce a marinara with that distinct Pizza Hut taste. And the recipe will make more than enough pasta to go around.

My Pizza Hut Meaty Marinara Pasta recipe is an easy one. After browning the seasoned beef, you add it to the sauce, simmer the sauce until thick, then spread it over one pound of rotini pasta in a baking dish in two layers so that every bite is filled with flavor. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the top and melt it until golden brown under your broiler. Boom! No one can resist. You rule.

This simple and inexpensive meal will feed eight, and leftovers keep well in the fridge for a couple of days.

    Pizza Hut Creamy Italian Dressing

As Pizza Hut veers away from salads, it’s becoming harder to find their popular Italian dressing. Perhaps this is why we’ve been getting an increasing number of requests here to hack the endangered classic salad sauce before it becomes extinct. When a search for the salad dressing here in Las Vegas hit a dead end I was thankful for a TSR fan in Pennsylvania who was able to send me a giant 1-gallon bottle of the stuff that should last me through the next decade.

Sure, it’s a lot of dressing, but the benefit of having an official bottle is that it comes with an official list of ingredients on the label. That was certainly helpful and informative, although I opted to not include the propylene glycol alginate (ick!) and xanthan gum in my Pizza Hut Creamy Italian Salad Dressing recipe. I kept it to simply basic ingredients, plus MSG. Monosodium glutamate is practically as safe as salt, and it’s an important part of the umami flavor found in the original. A respectable copycat recipe for Pizza Hut Creamy Italian Dressing cannot be made without this important ingredient, so include it if you want a perfect match. You can find MSG in stores in the spice aisle under the brand-name Ac’cent or in bulk online.

    Pizza Hut Spicy Lover's Pizza

To satisfy America’s growing desire for foods that bite back, Pizza Hut introduced its spiciest pizza ever in early 2022. The new peppery pies include Spicy Hawaiian Chicken and Spicy Veggie, but it’s the Spicy Double Pepperoni version, with both regular pepperoni and cupped pepperoni, that takes the top spot.

This is Pizza Hut’s first pizza to be topped with brined red jalapeño slices, which are similar to those packed in a jar from Old El Paso. If you can’t find bottled slices, use sliced fresh red jalapeños or red Fresno peppers, or any other spicy red pepper you find in your produce section. Red jalapeños will certainly bring some sting, but most of the boom will come from the chain’s new spicy marinara sauce that’s been kicked up with added peppers, and it's hacked here for you.

When your feisty pie comes out of the oven, hit it with some “fiery flakes” (crushed red pepper and parsley) and you’ve got a perfect hack of Pizza Hut Spicy Lover's Pizza for your pizza-loving, hungry home team who like some heat.

Pizza Hut Tuscani Creamy Chicken Alfredo Pasta

Menu Description: “Grilled chicken breast strips and rotini pasta oven baked in a creamy Alfredo sauce with a layer of melted cheese.”

Pizza Hut announced its new pasta dishes in 2008 with an email campaign claiming the company was changing its name to “Pasta Hut.” The date was April 1st, and the blast was an April Fool’s publicity stunt that helped make the chain’s new Tuscani pastas one of the company’s most popular new product launches. Each of the three varieties of pasta are covered with cheese and baked until light brown on top.

The Creamy Chicken Alfredo Pasta garnered the most hacking requests here, all pleading to know how to duplicate the delicious Alfredo sauce. I burned through several pounds of pasta and many quarts of cream, but finally landed on this top secret formula. Use my Pizza Hut Tuscani Creamy Chicken Alfredo Pasta copycat recipe to make a great dupe in your own kitchen. No foolin'.

Pizza Hut Triple Decker Thin Crust Pizza

Menu Description: "We start with a thin layer of crust, then we lay down a luscious layer of our six-cheese blend and seal it in with another thin layer of crust. We pile on your favorite Pizza Hut toppings, more cheese and bake it to gooey perfection."

You might be as surprised as I was to learn that Pizza Hut uses 2.5 percent of all the milk produced in the U.S. every year for the cheese used on the pizzas. We're talking about a lot of pizzas here—1.3 million served every day. The cheese production alone requires a herd of 250,000 dairy cows producing at full capacity 365 days a year.

Certainly, even more overworked cows had to be recruited to produce the additional cheese needed for this gooey new creation. This special pizza is made with two crispy cracker-like crusts that have a hidden layer of six cheeses cooked between them. Because this pizza requires two crusts, Pizza Hut created a dough that does not rise as much as the dough used in their other pizzas. This version has been adapted from a classic recipe for soda crackers. The finished product is the perfect pizza for people who think cheese is good, and more cheese is even better.

Pizza Hut WingStreet Traditional Chicken Wings

Pizza Hut added buffalo wings to the chain’s menu in 1995, and as the popularity of wings began to grow Yum! Brands (the parent company of Pizza Hut) created WingStreet in 2003 offering 8 different sauces on wings cooked 3 different ways. The WingStreet stores are almost always co-located in Pizza Hut stores so that you can get 7, 14, or 22 wings delivered right to your door along with your pizza. The chain offers several flavors of wings to choose from, but the most popular are always the traditional bone-in unbreaded wings with the spicy buffalo sauce that comes in either burnin’ hot, medium, or mild heat. The chain's medium sauce was named the “Best Medium Traditional Wing Sauce” in 2006, 2008, and 2009 at the National Buffalo Wing Festival held in Buffalo, New York every fall.

For my WingStreet Traditional Chicken Wings recipe, you can use butter instead of margarine, but if you want the closest copy of the award-winning WingStreet originals, margarine is the way to go. Also, be sure the wings you use are small—there should be about 14 wings in 1½ pounds.

    Pizza Hut Pan Pizza

The secret to perfect pan pizza is pressing the dough into a well-oiled pan (Pizza Hut uses soybean oil), then the pan is covered and the dough rises in a heated cabinet for 45 to 60 minutes. When the dough is topped, the edge is sprayed with a butter-flavored “food release” and the pie is baked at 500 degrees F until perfectly browned on top. You can use a 9-inch, 12-inch, or 15-inch deep dish pizza pan or cake pan for my Pizza Hut Pan Pizza recipe, and you’ll want to preheat your oven with a pizza stone in it to simulate the type of oven used at the chain. The hot ceramic surface of the pizza stone will cause the oil in the pan to cook the bottom of the dough so that it’s brown and crispy, like an authentic pan pizza crust should be.

I tried making the dough with cake flour, all-purpose flour, superfine “00” flour, bread flour and many combinations of these different flours which all contain varying amounts of gluten. I even tried rising the dough slowly in the refrigerator for various lengths of time, as long as up to four days. But after a month of testing and about 30 pan pizzas later, I found the best dough to be straight bread flour, and to let the dough rise at room temperature. I did find that if you let the dough rest for at least 4 hours before the final rise in the pizza pan you will get the best texture with the perfect chewy bite to it, just the Pizza Hut Pan Pizza.

    Pizza Hut Stuffed Crust Pizza

Menu Description: "This unique thinner crust has a ring of cheese baked into the edge so you get cheese in the very last bite of every slice."

Brothers Dan and Frank Carney have their dear old mom to thank for helping them to become founders of the world's largest pizza chain. It was in 1958 that a family friend approached the two brothers with the idea of opening a pizza parlor, and it was the brothers' mom who lent them the $600 it took to purchase some second-hand equipment and to rent a small building. There, in the Carneys' hometown of Wichita, Kansas, the first Pizza Hut opened its doors. By 1966, there were 145 Pizza Hut restaurants doing a booming business around the country with the help of the promotional musical jingle. "Putt-Putt to Pizza Hut." Today the chain is made up of more than 10,000 restaurants, delivery-carry out units, and kiosks in all 50 states and 82 foreign countries.

Introduced in 1995, the Stuffed Crust Pizza, which includes sticks of mozzarella string cheese loaded into the dough before baking, increased business at Pizza Hut by 37 percent. Because the outer crust is filled with cheese, the chain designed a special dough formula that does not rise as high as the original. It's best to prepare the dough of this Pizza Hut stuffed pizza crust copycat recipe a day before you plan to cook your pizza so that the dough can rest to develop crust with a chewy bite just like the original.
